Silly Rays, Bobbleheads are for fans
Jun 15th, 2009 by BobbleFanatic

In an earlier post, I highlighted baseball games that were giving away bobbleheads as a way to entice fans to their games. I think it is a great idea and is fun. Do I think it actually drives traffic, probably not. Do I think it is memorable for those that attend, definitely.

I bring this up because recently the major league baseball team, the Rays, has put the kabosh on the Threshers’, a minor league team owned by the Phillies, plan to giveaway 1500 bobbleheads of each of the 2008 World Series Phillies starters at each of their home games.

Do the Rays really think this bobblehead promotion is going to steal their fans from seeing their games and instead to go to the Threshers just for a free bobblehead. Now that’s just silly.

Burger King | The King | Bobblehead

Burger King | The King | Bobblehead

Burger King | The King | Bobblehead

There is a rich history in collecting bobbleheads and nodders from fast food restaurants and store brands. Most of these wobblers are made as promotional items that are given away or packaged in as an added value to the consumer. It seems as if Burger King has gone even beyond this and now has established a brand with The King that can stand on its own.

The King is the slightly creepy mascot for Burger King that is always promoting the value and taste of whatever Burger King is promoting at the time. Funko has ran with this and now is offering The King Wacky Wobblers. Below is the information taken directly from Funko.

A once highly-recognized symbol of the popular restaurant chain, the Burger King fell into obscurity for many years…but now he’s back! This Burger King bobble head royally stands approximately 6-inches tall. How could your dining room be complete without him?  Order yours today!

The King bobble head will be available this month from most retailers. Pre-order yours now!

Revenge of the Fallen Megatron Bobble Head

Revenge of the Fallen Megatron Bobble Head

If you are like me, you are really excited to see the sequel to Transformers. I have been buying Transformers merchandise like crazy and finally I found the crown jewel of my collection. Funko has just released awesome Transformer Wacky Wobblers. The one I picked up was Megatron and I can honestly tell you it’s awesome. The head has a very heavy weight to it which makes the wobble rather extreme. I would recommend buying this bobblehead if you get the chance. The bobblehead has been hard to find in stores in my area. Luckily Entertainment Earth still has a few of these in stock.
